JOB TITLE: Trainee Site Logistics Operative
QUALICIFCATION: Working towards NVQ2 in Site Logistics (Construction)
SALARY: Living Wage for Age
RESPONSIBLE TO: Site Manager

SCOPE OF JOB:

Job Tasks

To provide general construction site support services, including but not restricted to:-

  • Operation of any allocated Company Vehicle.
  • General unskilled maintenance and weekly inspection of any allocated Company Vehicle (inc. Cleansing, fuel and lubricant levels, tyre pressures, lights & indicators, brakes, etc.)
  • Collection and delivery of building products, components, materials, plant and equipment to and around site (inc. Manual handling of same as necessary)
  • Receiving and safely storing deliveries of building products, components, materials, plant and equipment (inc. Manual handling of same as necessary)
  • Assisting tradespersons in undertaking their job tasks as required.
  • Minor demolition and /or removals under instruction and supervision of the Site Manager (inc. partitions, kitchen / bathroom units and cupboards, etc.)
  • Ensuring site areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Ensuring that site welfare facilities are maintained in a clean and safe manner.
  • Setting out and erecting site safety barriers, fencing and signage.
  • Follow any other reasonable instruction given by the Site Manager.
  • Undertaking On Site Assessment & Training against the Nationally recognised NVQ2 in Construction Site Logistics

Hours Of Work

As required to be on site and available to commence site works during the hours of

  • 08:00 and 16:30 (Mon-Thurs)
  • 08:00 and 15:30 (Fri)

Work Location

At any one of the various transient construction sites based throughout Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire regions within the North of England.

Essential Skills / Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are:-

  • Competent to undertake the role with a good understanding of working in a construction site-based environment.
  • Fully mobile and have a current UK driving licence and their own means of transport.
  • Able to work as part of a team and under their own initiative.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, precise and polite manner with not only their managers and colleagues but also residents and members of the public.
