Job Summary
The role will initially be based in the yard, where you will support the preparation, unloading, and organisation of scaffolding materials. After a short initial period, you will be allocated to site work and will be always working alongside at least one qualified scaffolder.
While on site, you will work under the direct supervision of a scaffolder and follow their instructions in all aspects of the role. In the early stages, your duties will largely involve assisting as a labourer. As your experience and competence develop, you will gradually be given the opportunity to assist with the erection and dismantling of minor scaffold elements, always under direct supervision.
The long-term aim of the role is to progress operatives through a structured training and development programme, supporting them to become fully competent scaffolders. In addition, the rates mentioned are here to cover all ages of potential Apprenticeship candidates.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the unloading, sorting, and organisation of scaffolding materials in the yard, gaining an understanding of individual scaffold components.
- Support the loading and unloading of materials when attending site.
- Assist scaffolders with the erection and dismantling of scaffolding systems, including:
Cuplok system scaffolding
- Always maintain safe working practices, follow site, and company procedures.
Person Specification
- Can travel directly to the Lea Scaffolding Yard (Bolton, BL2)
- Driving Licence (preferred not required)
- Physically fit
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Works well as part of a team

Pay: £8-£10 per hour depending on experience
Expected hours: 45 per week (6.45am – 4.30pm)
