At Allerton Damp Proofing, electrical work is an important part of delivering safe, high-quality property improvement works for our customers.
We’re a growing team of skilled tradespeople working across domestic and social housing properties throughout Yorkshire, and we’re looking for experienced Electricians to join our trade team.
Our electrical work sits alongside our wider damp, mould, ventilation and property improvement services, so no two days are exactly the same.

The Work
You’ll be carrying out electrical and associated works in domestic and social housing properties across Yorkshire.
This can include:
- Electrical installation and remedial works
- Consumer unit upgrades and replacements
- Electrical alterations associated with property improvement works
- Installing and replacing sockets, switches and accessories
- Electrical works associated with kitchens, bathrooms and refurbishment projects
- Fault finding and remedial repairs
- Inspection, testing and certification
- Electrical works associated with ventilation and extractor systems
- Supporting the installation of domestic ventilation equipment
- Making safe and reinstating electrical supplies where required
- Completing work in both occupied and vacant properties
- Working alongside other trades to deliver complete property improvement projects
You’ll be expected to complete work safely, compliantly and to a high standard, while treating every property and customer with respect.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experienced, fully qualified electrician
- Strong experience working in domestic properties
- Social housing, responsive repairs or property maintenance experience is highly desirable
- Confident carrying out installation, fault finding and remedial works
- Able to complete electrical testing and certification accurately
- Comfortable working independently while being part of a wider operational team
- Able to think on your feet and solve problems on site
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
- Professional and respectful when working in customers’ homes
- Reliable, organised and takes pride in doing the job properly
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points)
Qualifications
You’ll need relevant electrical qualifications, including:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671
- Inspection and Testing qualification such as City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent
- Appropriate electrical competence to undertake domestic installation, testing and remedial works
Experience or qualifications relating to domestic ventilation would be beneficial but are not essential.
You’ll also need to be able to pass the required DBS and right-to-work checks for the environments in which we operate.
