Apprentice Electrician

• Training: NVQ Level 3                
• Accountable to: Site Supervisor          

Main Purpose of Job: We are seeking a motivated and reliable Electrical Apprentice to join our team and develop practical skills and knowledge within the electrical trade. The successful candidate will work alongside qualified electricians, gaining hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems while working towards the relevant electrical qualifications.

JOB SPECIFICATION

•   Assist qualified electricians with electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs.
•   Install and maintain electrical wiring, cables, sockets, switches, lighting, and other electrical equipment.
•   Assist with fault finding, testing, and inspection of electrical systems.
•   Read and understand basic electrical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
•   Use electrical tools and equipment safely and correctly.
•   Follow health and safety procedures and electrical regulations at all times.
•   Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
•   Work on domestic, commercial, or industrial electrical projects as required.
•  Complete apprenticeship training, coursework, and practical assessments.
•   Maintain accurate records of work completed and training undertaken.
• Work cooperatively with electricians, supervisors, contractors, and other trades

• Ability to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English is essential to this role
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
• Willingness to learn and develop practical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Basic understanding of mathematics and electrical principles is desirable.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in different working environments where required.
• A full driving licence may be desirable depending on the role

Qualifications Required

• GCSEs or equivalent, particularly in Maths and English, are desirable.
• Previous electrical or construction experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Applicants must be willing to complete the required apprenticeship training and electrical qualifications.
