Overview

We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Painter & Decorator Apprentice to join our team. This role focuses on external decorating and maintenance of residential properties including houses, bungalows, and low-rise flats. The successful candidate will learn practical trade skills while supporting experienced decorators in delivering high-quality workmanship across a range of outdoor tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing external surfaces for painting, including washing down, sanding, scraping, filling, and priming.
• Support the application of paints, stains, varnishes, and protective coatings to walls, fences, gates, doors, guttering, and other exterior components.
• Learn to select and use tools, materials, and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised working environment at all times.
• Follow instructions from qualified decorators and contribute to the smooth delivery of planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
• Ensure all work meets company standards for quality, durability, and customer satisfaction.
• Attend scheduled apprenticeship training and work towards completing all required learning modules and assessments.

Requirements

• A genuine interest in painting, decorating, and property maintenance.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).
• Eligibility to enrol in a recognised Painting & Decorating Apprenticeship programme.
