Job Overview
The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of retrofit and energy improvement works across multiple sites. Reporting into the operational management team, the role plays a key part in ensuring projects are completed in line with programme requirements, health & safety standards, project timelines, and customer expectations.
Working closely with subcontractors, operational teams, residents, and clients, the Site Manager will coordinate site activities, monitor performance, and ensure all works are delivered to the required quality and compliance standards. The role also supports effective communication across teams while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
This position is well suited to a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership skills and experience managing site operations within construction, retrofit, or energy-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project programmes.
- Supervise subcontractors and site teams, ensuring work is completed to required quality and compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and safe systems of work across all site activities.
- Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and site logistics to support smooth project delivery.
- Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure works meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project progress and report on site performance, programme updates, and any operational issues.
- Work closely with residents, customer liaison teams, and stakeholders to support positive customer experiences throughout project delivery.
- Support the resolution of site-related issues, delays, or operational challenges in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend project and operational meetings, providing updates and contributing to delivery planning.
- Maintain accurate site records, including health & safety documentation, progress reports, and compliance evidence.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a Site Manager role, ideally within retrofit, construction, or energy efficiency projects.
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
- Ability to coordinate multiple trades, subcontractors, and operational priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and stakeholders confidently.
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience managing customer-focused projects within occupied properties is desirable.
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications and digital reporting systems.
- Site Management qualifications such as SMSTS or HNC in Construction Management
- Valid UK Driving License
