Overview of the role.

Housing Repairs Service Trades Apprenticeship: Joinery – with Sheffield City Council.

Fixed term apprenticeship 4 years. In the first year of the apprenticeship, Level 2 and 3 apprentices will be paid £7.55 per hour, regardless of age.

Sheffield City Council’s Housing Repairs Service carries out repairs and maintenance to over 40,000 Council homes. This year, they are offering an amazing 23 Apprenticeship opportunities in trades, with a September 2024 start.

The 23 Apprenticeship opportunities are available across seven different building trades: Electricians; Gas Fitters; Plumbers; Joiners; Roofers.

As an Apprentice, you will:

  • Get paid whilst you learn
  • Be fully funded to complete a recognised qualification
  • Receive one day off the job per week for study leave at college (during term time)
  • Receive hands-on/practical experience in an experienced team environment
  • Have a great peer support network
  • Have the potential to secure a permanent job with us upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship.

Qualifications:

For all Plumbers / Roofers / Joiners they are looking for (or working towards) a Level 3 / Grade D (in English and Maths).
