Overview of the role.
The purpose of the Assistant Craftsperson is to manage a variety of engineering and environmental duties including pre-planned maintenance and repair. This would include plant and equipment in accordance with relevant legislative standards and operational procedures to ensure the integrity of engineering services and infrastructure of the hospital and to provide a safe environment for patients, public and staff.

Qualifications
Essential
Willingness to undertake training including self-directed study
Willingness to attend relevant training courses
Numerate and literate
Basic Level ICT
Desirable
Relevant NVQ level 3 or Vocational Qualifications level 3, GCSE OR equivalent previous trade knowledge & Experience
Experience
Essential
Basic Knowledge of:-
Mechanical/Electrical and Building Plant and Equipment.
Required to be accurate with the ability to ensure attention to detail when compiling verbal and written reports.
Desirable
Have experience of working in a healthcare environment
Completion of a structured training program in building or plumbing
Experience of legionella testing/sampling
Additional Criteria

Ability to prioritise own work
Ability to work under pressure
Able to work under instruction, on your own and as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.
