Overview of the role.

Plumber – Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.

Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200-acre secure site has half a million square feet of stage space, production offices and workshops together with an exterior filming tank, one of the largest indoor heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. WBSL has some of the largest sound stages in the UK and is proving to be a very popular facility for production clients.

WB Leavesden Park, adjacent to the Studio, offers modern and flexible office space for Production Companies. The site also has its own, on-site Set Lighting & Rigging rental division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in audio post-production for feature films and television.

WBSL also have an onsite childcare facility available to WB employees, onsite productions called The WonderWorks and Zone10 – an onsite gym facility to support the physical and mental wellbeing of all our employees.

These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post-production facility in the UK.

Primary Purpose of the Job:

Essential Job Functions:

· Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks as requested by the Maintenance Manager, Lead Plumber and issued by Facilities Administrator.

· Ensure that the sites plumbing, and mechanical equipment are looked after in such a way as to maintain continuous operation and legal compliance with local and national regulations.

· Operating and maintaining mechanical systems via the BMS.

· Carrying out small installation works and modifications to existing systems. This includes dishwashers, washing machines and any other asset installation required.

· React to all emergency with a view to implement a permanent fix or a temporary safe fix to reduce down-time, working through an escalate process for a quick resolution.

· Respond, diagnose, and resolve plumbing issues in a timely manner.

· Undertaking general maintenance tasks and survey inspections including areas at height.

· Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of works performed, and materials used.

Skills Required:

· Use and maintenance of site plant equipment such as MEWPS (training provide)

· preferable but not essential skill set – trained to use trailers and forklifts (training provided)

· Working knowledge of industrial and commercial systems including HVAC systems.

· Preferable but not essential skill set Knowledge of the Business Management System (BMS) system.

· Technologically proficient with good working knowledge of sanitisation and drainage systems.

· Full working knowledge and adherence to H&S standards.

· Interpret drawings and building specification to map layout for pipes, drainage, and other plumbing related services.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.

· Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working on own initiative.

· Work well under pressure.

· Prepared to participate in other non-engineering business related projects.

· A positive and helpful attitude towards Heath, Safety Welfare, and safe systems of working.

· Collaborate with general contractors and other construction professionals including the facilities team.

Aspirational Education/Qualifications

· NVQ Level2 Diploma in Plumbing & Heating

· NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Installing & Maintaining Domestic Heating Systems

· Legionella Regulations Awareness, preferable but not essential

· Gas safe registered would be advantageous.

· Water regulations.

· CENWAT : Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters

You will be required to work a 40-hour week on a rota shift pattern. You will also be required to work evenings and weekends in line with the operating hours of the studio and the studio tour. There will be a requirement to respond to emergencies in and out of normal working hours. You will be required to work some bank holidays.
