Overview of the role.

Trainee Sprinkler Installer with Argus Fire, working in Salford and surrounding areas. Qualification opportunity IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation. 39 hours per week; permanent role. Minimum wage for age rising to £28,000 on completion of training (2 years +) and £33,500+ when experienced. Reporting to the Site Supervisor.

As a Sprinkler Installation Trainee you will assist in the installation and maintenance of sprinkler systems. You will be given the opportunity to undertake the IQ Level 2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation qualification. A sprinkler installation fitter will fit pipes, pumps and sprinkler heads. There will be a requirement to follow technical drawings and plans and have a careful and well-ordered approach to work.

JOB SPECIFICATION

· Awareness of Regulations in the Fire Sprinkler Industry

· To assist with the installation of sprinkler systems using a full range of installation materials and technique

· To assist with repairs and maintenance on a full range of sprinkler systems

· Read and interpret drawings, selecting materials according to specifications, checking dimensions, alignment and levels

· Gaining access to work areas which may involve, according to age, climbing ladders, scaffold and working at height. Certain tasks may require working in confined spaces such as roof voids

· Accurate completion of paperwork in relation to site activities

· Providing a polite, helpful and flexible service to clients (internal and external) and the general public

PERSON SPECIFICATION

· Although not essential due to the nature of working between multiple sites a full driving licence is preferred or for you to have at least started to learn to drive

· Ability to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English is essential to this role

· An interest in pipe fitting and allied trades

· Physically fit

· Reliable / Good timekeeping

· Willingness to undertake training in English and IT

· Ability to work as part of a team

· Ability to work at height / confined spaces
